1. Tarps
You should have a tarp for underneath your tent, on the grass for comfort, blocking sunlight, and you should have extras laying around. You never know when you need something as a wall or barrier. Tarps are inexpensive and don't take up too much space. Don't be afraid to be the camper who brings extra tarps.
2. Toilet paper
Even if your camping in a place with public restrooms or porta potties you never know when there is going to be toilet paper. If anything you should just assume their isn't any.
3. Zip ties
Great for tying shade up, typing tarps above for rain protection.
4. Sunblock
Even if there isn't any sun. If you are going to be outside all day it's best to cover your skin from the UV rays.
5. Waterproof Shoes
If your like me and hate it when your socks get wet this is a must.
6. Rain Poncho
Get the cheap plastic ones. Those actually work the best. Plastic is the best for rain protection.
7. Trash bags
Make sure to leave the area like it was before and to pick up your trash and recyclables.
8. Cooking tools
Including utensils. Make sure you plan out what you are going to cook so you know what you need to bring. I like having a set of pots and pans that I only use for camping.
9. Hydration backpack
Having water at the tip of your fingers is always a must! Also they make a great water reservoir.
10. Shelter
Whether it be your car, a tent, or simply a hammock with a bug net or rainfly.
